When did you start orienteering?

1993

How much do you train each week?

About 10 hours/70 miles.

How do you split the training between speed training and technique?

2 hrs speed/3 hrs technique.

Is there one tip that has particularly helped to improve your performance?

Absorbing myself in the map & enjoying myself.

What indulgences (if any) did you have to give up?

None really.

What do you do to relax?

Boring stuff like TV, football, cinema.

What areas do you like orienteering in most?

Fast, intricate terrain.

Have you won any races?

Yes, a few: JK, British, Junior Internationals. Recently won a World Ranking Event in Portugal.

How do you run so fast through terrain without falling over or twisting an ankle?

Practice.

Was there any other sport you enjoyed when you were at school and had to give up to concentrate on orienteering?

No, I was rubbish at everything else!

Did you do cross country when you were at school and, if so, were you any good at it?

No and no.
